Senior Process Development Engineer/Project Manager

CZero seeks a chemical engineering professional to join our dynamic team in the area of process commercialization. The successful candidate will take on a leadership role to define, construct, install and commission CZero’s first of a kind low carbon hydrogen process demonstration plant. The candidate will also transition to demonstration plant operation. The candidate will follow and help input to demonstration plant operation. Demo plant data will be reviewed for transition to commercial plant design.

As a Senior Process Development Engineer, job responsibilities and experience  include the following:

Minimum Requirements:

    BS or MS in Chemical Engineering

    Minimum 10 years engineering experience in the Petro-Chemical (or related) industry.

    Extensive relevant engineering experience in process scale up and commercialization of chemical technologies

    Must be well versed in typical chemical process engineering deliverables, i.e. process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, heat and mass balances, equipment datasheets and specifications

    Experience with process hazard analyses (PHA, HAZOP, LOPA)

    Maintain quality, schedules and budgets of third-party engineering and fabrication of modular process systems

Experience in following areas a plus:

    Understanding of Safety Instrumentation Systems – Interlock Matrix Development

    Knowledge of the FEL project management process

    Project management

        Experience in the procurement and contracting process for Engineering and Construction Services

        Mange permitting of demo plant site

        Manage factory acceptance of shop fabricated process modules

        Experience managing site preparation, module erection and installation

        Process and electrical tie points

        Experience managing site installation of process control systems

        Development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each plant unit

        Development of commissioning plan

            HAZOP punch list close out

            SOP Updates

            Control system testing

            Pressure testing

            Inert flow testing

            Initial operation

        Development of staged plant start-up procedure

    Familiar with interpretation and application of Codes and Standards such as NEC, ASME, API, ISA and NFPA

    Professional Engineer Certification considered a plus
